Warships Pavilion

Museum Building

MBA Excellence in Construction Awards, 2016 Winner

Client

Australian National Maritime Museum

Scope

The Warships Pavilion is a truly unique building due to its complex design and iconic location.

It is a three storey museum building constructed on an existing concrete wharf above Darling Harbour, located on the harbour side of the main Australian National Maritime Museum. It provides a range of spaces which are dedicated to Australia’s Navy. It also provides a gateway to the Onslow (submarine) and Vampire (destroyer) via movable gangways.

The Pavilion building features a detailed articulated façade that has many challenging components that required extensive modelling co-ordination by our specialist façade contractor and the project architect.

This project was successfully delivered without any major safety or environmental issues.
