Garie Beach Surf Centre

Client: Department of Services, Technology and Administration

This was an unusual and difficult project due to its remote location and the absence of mains power and water at the site. The three quality buildings have been designed to be environmentally friendly in that they rely on solar power with back up generators. Rainwater is collected into numerous existing and new tanks and the sewage is treated via a Biomax system.

The design was unique and included the extensive use of stainless steel as well as timber prominently featured in the raked external walls.

The finished center provides a functional and comfortable new home for the Garie Beach Surf Club and NPWS Education Centre.

This project won three Excellence in Construction Awards from the Master Builders Association.
